Maplewoodstock was this weekend! It’s a local arts and music festival in Maplewood (which is three train stops from New Providence) with more of a folksy/ hippie flavor than I was expecting. (Why wasn’t I expecting that? Because I’m dumb.)
The festival is literally across the street from the train station, so if you ever go, I’d say don’t bother driving (and hunting down a parking space) if you can avoid it.
Based on the schedule, I think this is the Vibe Merchants, who started their set with a brief rendition of “Saturday in the Park,” which was completely appropriate. I hadn’t heard that song in a while.
If you enjoy setting up a beach chair and hanging out on a lawn for hours—and not paying for it—this is a festival for you.
