OLP 2013 – 3 – Ferris wheel

Ferris wheel woohooooo

Ferris wheels are fun.

Hats off to George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr. for designing them. Thanks man.

Pretty from a distance, too

I got nothin’ beyond that.

Italian Festival 4 – Sky Diver

Sky diver!

I couldn’t do anything about the moiré patterns, but if you click the image, you can see a larger version of the photo that is hopefully a little bit cleaner.

Anyway. This is the Sky Diver!

Capsules!

It’s like a Ferris Wheel on acid. The capsules, which are anchored to the wheel by axles at the front and back, flip over and around as the wheel turns. Whee!

Ridin' the Ferris Wheel

Continuing with the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Everyone loves a Ferris Wheel! And apparently this kid thought there was something awesome just off to the right.

Feast of OLMC

Rock-O-Plane!

Today is the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel!

Berkeley Heights has been celebrating it all week, and I’m gonna take the next week to show you photos from the festival! Pretty exciting. For me, anyway. Photographing carnivals is fun!

We’ll start off nice and slow, with the Rock O’Plane. That’s a funny name for a ride, innit? Looks cool, though.

Carnival 2!

Yay Ferris Wheels!

More OLP Carnival shots. It wouldn’t be a fair without a Ferris wheel! Thanks George Washington Gale Ferris Jr.

Spinning spinning spinning

…And sometimes I can’t decide between shots, so you get ’em both. Which one do you like better?

Fairgrounds

Country Fair!

Our Lady of Peace had a Country Fair this week in their back parking lot!

The rides were provided by Blue Sky Amusements, which I think is the same company that handles the rides in the Monmouth County Fair.

There were also lots of food vendors, featuring classic fair food.

Fooooood!

Everyone seemed to be having a good time, and no one was the least bit upset when it started raining.

Yay fairs!
