Cinematics

Berkeley Cinema, of course.

This is—or was—the Berkeley Cinema. Although everything except the recently-painted red walls indicate that this thing has been abandoned for a while, it apparently only closed a couple months ago, in January 2011… to many movegoers’ surprise.

According to the reminiscings of someone on Cinema Treasures, it opened in 1973 (built on the foundation of a “Garden State Farms Milk store”).

It’s not a large building, and apparently it only hosts one single screen.
