Parsonageity

Frankenhouse.

This parsonage house, which accompanies the Scotch Plains Baptist Church, was constructed in 1786, and has the distinction of being the first (documented) stone parsonage in Essex and Union Counties. As of 1995, it had served as the home for every pastor who had ever served the church. (This is probably still the case, but I don’t have evidence to substantiate it.)

Scotch Plains Baptist Parsonage, date unknown. Not recent.

Although it’s noted for its stone, the white wood frame addition on the right was added in 1810.

Scotch Plains Baptist Parsonage, c. 1994?
